While I was looking through the
Metropolitan Museum of Art archives, I came across these beautiful watercolor paintings by Winslow Homer. Some I have seen before and some are new to me. Because watercolor paintings are much more fragile and light sensitive than oil paintings, they aren't usually on permanent display. Another reason these archives are such a fantastic resource. These tropical scenes are especially inticing this time of year when it's 15 degrees in CT!
