Sleep Tight: Dreamy Master Bedrooms

Canadian House and Home

I'm currently working on the redesign of a Master Bedroom Suite.  Here are some of the images I'm looking at for inspiration to get a feel for how the room will look.  While I won't be doing the interior design for this project, I want to home in on the looks my client responds to.  This will help me to have a better understanding as to how to layout the space, and what architectural details and features I will want to use.  If there's a theme, I think it would be serene neutral with a pop of color.  Sweet Dreams to all.

In Bloom Now

This is a beautiful time of year in Connecticut...the grass and underbrush turn an amazing vibrant green.  Meanwhile flowering trees and shrubs start exploding with color, seemingly all at the same time. Right now Dogwoods, Lilacs, Wisteria, and Red Buds are all in peak bloom. The only sad thing is that it all happens so fast.  I'm going to take a minute this weekend to stop and smell the lilacs!

House & Garden Love

I'm in love!  I just discovered this house and garden in Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles magazine, and I am smitten.  Because it's spring, I have been focusing much more on landscape and gardens than I have been on interiors....both in my real life and in my virtual life.  The house was built in the 1960's, designed by the architect James Means in a Virginia colonial style.  It's located in Buckhead, which is a very posh section of Atlanta.  But despite the proximity to the city,  the house and surrounding landscape of 8.7 acres maintains rural feel.  The current owners hired Jeremy Smearman and Shane Griffin of Planters to design and install the landscaping.  I love the chicken coop, the horse paddocks, and of course the pool.  The design and the plantings are a great mix of formal and informal.  OK, I'm ready to move in!
