Next Stop, Necker Island, BVI

Located just north of Virgin Gorda, in the British Virgin Islands is Necker Island, owned by Sir Richard Branson.  Branson purchased the uninhabited 74 acre island when he was just 28 years old.  There he created a fabulous private island retreat. It is part of the Virgin Limited Edition portfolio of luxury properties.  Sadly, last August during tropical storm Irene, The Great House was struck by lightning and burned to the ground.  I don't know if the resort has been rebuilt.  But here are some pre-fire photos of the resort.
