Maurice Sendak: in Memorium

Thank you for your art, and for filling my childhood, and generations of other children with such amazing, wonderful, stories, characters, and images. Who could forget Max and "Where the Wild Things Are" I don't think I realized the power and poignancy of this book until I had children of my own. The world will miss you.

Real Estate Envy: Ireland

Got a spare $5.1 Million? I totally wish I did. That's how much you will need to buy this little beauty in Ireland. This magnificent equestrian estate on 169 acres in County Wicklow, is being offered by Christies. Mt. Kennedy House, a 15,000sf Georgian Mansion, was built in 1785 with beautiful Adamsesque plasterwork ceilings. The property also includes stables and two guest houses....The interiors could use a little decorating help, but otherwise it's lovely.

Turqoise Love: Chahan Minassian in Paris

This amazing apartment in Paris was designed by Chahan Minassian. I really love the color palate, so soft and yet lively. I also adore the mix of old and new. The combination of the baroque furniture with the modern art is such a great dynamic. It seems Chahan knows his art as well as his interior design. He's quite a renaissance man. In addition to being an interior designer, he is an antiques dealer, a gallery director, and a furniture designer. Wow! Some of his other projects are much more spare...I really like them as well, but this project really stands out! It's like a cross between 1930's Hollywood glamor and 21st century modern. I can't get enough of this place!

Even this really spare kitchen is made glamorous with book matched granite slabs for the backsplash and a reflective stainless steel toe kick.

Master Bath Inspiration

Cook Architectural Design via Houzz

Here are some inspiration photos I'm looking at as I plan a new Master Bathroom for a client. I like the idea of wallpaper...just not sure how practical it is. Some images are quite traditional while others are a little more sleek or edgy. I have a feeling my client will want to be somewhere in between.
