Carriage Houses aren't just for carriages any more



I was looking for the perfect carriage house today, for inspiration and design ideas for a garage I'm designing. I was really looking for images of simplified farmhouse Victorian carriage houses. I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but I came across some lovely examples.

    What a wonderful collection of carriage houses. I am especially attracted to that style and have always hoped the opportunity would present itself for me to live in one. For awhile I considered building one but what I really want was a real old carriage house that would lend itself to remodeling. Remodeling is my favorite sport! I hope you will end up with what you want. That means that in a future generation someone will have the pure pleaser of living in your carriage house.

    I kinda like the 4th pic, the one with two double doors. I’m guessing those open up to the living/dining room for outdoor parties? That, or for cool breezy nights and you just want to lounge at the couch. Either way, it looks wonderful! Although, you could probably put couches or patio benches out there if you’re not using that space for parking or whatnot.
